I would like to recommend the Mark Jenkins exhibition “Glazed Paradise: Sculptures and Photography” at Gestalten Space in Mitte. It´s open till February the 26th.
“Gestalten is proud to present the first solo show in Germany by the renowned American artist Mark Jenkins, who uses ordinary packing tape to create life-size human or animal forms. Jenkins is best known for his clever installations of these startlingly lifelike tape sculptures in urban and natural spaces as well as indoor environments such as cafeterias, toilets, and art galleries. This expert staging of his work, especially his clothed human figures, provokes various—often strong—reactions from passersby and expands his interventions into powerful performances.”

Am 12.11. organisiert Viva con Agua das Benefizevent “Bässe(r) für Wasser” mit Künstlern wie Fleur Earth & Twit One, Suff Daddy, MelBeatz, Jolly Jay, Ill_K und Dr. Kaya im Edelweiß im Görlitzer Park. Alle Artists verzichten auf eine Gage und die gesammte Organisation wird ehrenamtlich gestemmt. Auf jedenfall ein unterstützenswerter Event, welche auf die Beine gestellt wurde. Viva con Agua, eine Trinkwasser Initiative aus Sankt Pauli, setzt sich seit 2005 für die Verbesserung der Trinkwasser- und sanitären Situation in bedürftigen Regionen unserer Erde ein. Wir versuchen durch Spaß und kreativen Aktionen für die Trinkwasserproblematik zu Sensibilisieren und Spenden für konkrete Projekte, mit direkten Bildungsangeboten in den Projektregionen, zu sammeln.
