The great team of tape.tv asked me and several other bloggers to do a personal Top 10 video list of 2011! Unfortunately they don´t have all videos I would put into my best list, but I am very happy with the result. See here all my favourite videos from the tenth to the first:

The song from the 2010 album “New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh)” is splitted into three parts or movements. Today Erykah Badu released the video for the second movement. Very pure and minimal!
You maybe have seen the great video for “A Long Time”, the first single from Mayer Hawthorne´s new album “How Do You Do”. Now here is the second video “The walk” and it´s also very good (inclusive the cute girl)! The video player has a nice feature: you can blend the lyrics in by clicking on the button at the bottom right. I changed the player, but you can see the video with the lyrics here. “How Do You Do” will be released on October 11th.
Nachdem Aloe Blacc im Made Space (Alle sechs Videos hier + Making-Of) zusammen mit Miki und Jaybo eine Neukreation seiner Songs geschaffen hat, war im letzten Monat niemand anderes als die wunderbare Erykah Badu zu Gast. Seht hier sowohl eine Zusammenfassung des Projekts als auch die Rubrik “Visions of Visionaries”, in welcher Frau Badu über Kunst und kreative Prozesse spricht. Auf jeden Fall sehr inspirierend!

Der Mann mit der schönsten Nase im Biz hat für eine englische Gin-Marke einen Song samt Video aufgenommen. Aloe Blacc Qualität as usual!
Wer es noch nicht gesehen hat, sollte sich unbedingt die sechs live Videos von der Performance im Berliner Made hier ansehen!
Mayer auch wieder mit einem neuem Video am Start! “A Long Time” ist der erste Vorbote aus dem neuen Album “How Do You Do” und besticht mit einem sehr geilen Videozusammenschnitt aus irgendeiner alten, amerikanischen Tanzshow! Auf jeden Fall sind da einige funky Moves dabei!

Einige werden es damals mitbekommen haben. Aloe Blacc war im Berliner Creative Space Made zu Gast und hat mit den Künstlern Mihalj “MIKI” Kekenj und Jaybo etwas Einzigartiges geschaffen. Miki hat die Songs von Aloe neu arrangiert und instrumentalisiert und Jaybo kreierte, inspiriert von der Musik von Aloe Blacc, ein Bild, welches ihr im Hintergrund des Videos seht! Diese Woche werden im Made Blog alle sechs Live-Songs des Projekts täglich vorgestellt. Schaut euch auch unbedingt das Making-Of Video an! Die weiteren Teile werde ich hier nach und nach anfügen!
