Die Doku “Hip-Hop, The World Is Yours” ist zwar aus dem Jahr 2009, aber trotzdem immer noch sehenswert! Bei Arte+7 habt ihr ab heute die Möglichkeit die Doku eine Woche lang bis zum 26.05 zu sehen! Besonders interessant ist, dass nicht nur über die Anfänge in den USA gesprochen wird, sondern auch über Entwicklungen in u.a. Frankreich, Israel und Berlin!
Viele glauben, bereits alles über Hip-Hop zu wissen. Doch der Dokumentarfilm „Hip-Hop, The World Is Yours“ sprengt alle Klischees, die mit diesem Musikgenre verbunden sind, und öffnet den Blick auf die einende Kraft einer globalen Bewegung. Aus den USA nach Europa und dann in die ganze Welt importiert, entstand der Hip-Hop in den 60er und 70er Jahren in den großstädtischen Brennpunkten. Geprägt von sozialen Unruhen und Rassismus, Gewaltbereitschaft und Intoleranz sowie der erstarkenden Identität der Minderheiten. Auf packende Art vermittelt der Film eine optimistische Botschaft von Hoffnung und Versöhnung. Er demonstriert, wie die Musikgattung Hip-Hop ohne Tabus ganz unterschiedliche Menschen begeistert und im Protest zusammenführt: Berliner und Hamburger Rapper, Pariser Vorstadtkids, Juden aus Israel, Palästinensische Jugendliche und afrikanische Frauenrechtlerinnen. „Hip-Hop, The World Is Yours“ ist die mitreißende Chronik einer explosiven Revolte an der Schnittstelle zwischen Politik und Kunst.

Schon mal was von Hanksy gehört?!
In dieser kurzen Doku von IamOther erfahrt ihr mehr über den Streetartist aus New York und seiner Obsession von Tom Hanks und anderen Berühmtheiten! Seit ca. zwei Jahren ist Hanksy mit seinen Pastings und Wortspielen unterwegs, wie z.B. “The Walken Dead”, “Cage against the machine”", “Vanny Devito” usw.
In preparation for his first Los Angeles art show, New York street artist Hanksy explains the inspiration behind how he came to be. His celebrity obsession and subsequent wordplay phenomenon has been shrouded in mystery since his emergence two years ago.
Berliner werden wahrscheinlich mitbekommen haben, dass JR im Moment in der Stadt ist und sowohl Pastings anbringt als auch eine eigene Ausstellung in der Galerie Henrik Springmann vom 17. April bis 25. Mai haben wird!
Heute wurde außerdem der Trailer zur Dokumentation des Projekts “Inside Out” veröffentlicht! Falls ihr von dem Projekt noch nichts gehört habt, gibt es hier einige Infos und ein Video aus dem Jahre 2012, in welchem JR ein Jahr nachdem er den TED Prize gewonnen und zu diesem Projekt aufgerufen hat über “Inside Out” spricht!
JR creates participatory art projects that he hopes will change the world. He won the 2011 TED prize, which gives $100,000 to the recipient and one wish. JR’s wish is for art to “turn the world inside out”, celebrating the power of the individual and he is inviting people to participate in the project “Inside Out” (www.insideoutprojectnet) A formidable artistic.

Die Produzenten EAST CROSS PROJECTS und EMUS PRIMUS präsentieren diesen Donnerstag das Vorab-Screening der “Berlin spricht Wände” DVD! Diese beinhaltet neben den Videos in denen Rap und Streetart kombiniert wurde auch Aufnahmen der Artbase 2012 auf dem Teufelsberg und diverse andere Streetart-Aktionen! Klingt auf jeden Fall interessant und der Eintritt ist auch kostenlos! The microblogging site Tumblr has given a voice to a wide variety of artists in its short history: queer rapper Le1f, R&B new hope Kilo Kish and seapunk founders Zombelle and Ultrademon. What’s fascinating is that, musically, there’s not a ton that connects them. It’s Tumblr: A site that offers them one of the best ways to express themselves.
