The two producers Union from Paris will release their album called “Analogtronics” in 2012 with a great feature list like Elzhi, MF Doom, Guilty Simpson and Damu the Fudgemunk. Check out their single “Time Leak” featuring Talib Kweli & Sly Johnson and the Remix of fLako!

“Time Leak” features Talib Kweli on the verses and Sly Johnson’s soulful belting on the hooks. The music video pays homage to The Matrix, Alien, the work of David Cronenberg, and any other spacey cult classic you can name drop. The visuals show Union ‘controlling” a female body with their instrumentals, eventually bringing her to life and getting her to dance.
This single is available on a very special 12″ offering from Fat Beats Records newest and most mysterious signees, Union. It comes on a neon, triangle shaped vinyl in a thick clear plastc poly bag. The A side is main version, along with the banging, spacey instrumental that Union is known for. The B Side contains two remixes: Redefinition Records’ Damu the Fudgemunk, and Project Mooncircle’s fLako.
Union consists of two Parisian producers whose otherworldly approach to analog-driven, melodically abstract, sample free hip-hop inspired Fat Beats Records to extend a label invitation immediately. When a mysterious, monolithic, glossy black package arrived at FBHQ with nothing more than a cryptic note and an unlabeled CD inside, the staff wasn’t sure if Stanley Kubrick had risen from the dead to make mixtapes or if their lives were about to be transformed forever. Luckily it was the latter, and today the legendary label is poised to unleash Union’s debut album Analogtronics on an unsuspecting Earth in the Dawn of 2012.

“Tip The Scale” and “Make My” are the first two videos from The Roots new album “undun”. The longplayer will be released on december the 6th. I hope they will play a liveshow in Berlin!

undone is the story of this kid who becomes a criminal, but he wasn’t born criminal. He’s not the nouveau exotic primitive bug-eyed gunrunner… he’s actually thoughtful and is neither victim nor hero. Just some kid who begins to order his world in a way that makes the most sense to him at a given moment… At the end of the day… isn’t that what we all do?
